Going for the Water-Type Masters Event! Honestly this is such a refreshing event, anyone can enjoy it at their pace (ie. “casuals” can nab their rewards with a bit of challenge, while “try-harders” can go and refine their strategy as best as they can to aim for their best score). What I like is that it’s not as grindy as Legendary Gauntlet, while not as straight-forward as Special Champion Stadium, you basically have to dig in your roster for the given type, lay-down your teams strategically and refine your point multipliers and gameplans for the best score. Obviously the Water roster is key there so don’t stress out with your score too much if you don’t have the Top Tier Sync Pairs, this is meant to be fun 😉
Anyways, Dojo Gloria has been on my want-list for a while so I was ready to go all the way for her (while the event itself was just an extra incentive to pull on this banner) and well… I got lucky once again, getting SS Lysandre and Dojo Gloria very early! They served me well for the event, while the other Top Tier Water Sync Pairs were also key to claim as much points as I could! I hope you’ll enjoy the run, and most importantly have fun with the event, don’t pressure yourself for it and just get some good fun!

1:10 – Eusine / Variety Lyra / SS Kris Vs Misty +550 Strength
Honestly SS Kris is the MVP for this stage, removing Hail, buffing the team SpDef with a bit of AoE heal to alleviate the Blizzard spam. Eusine can’t use the Trap condition on this stage but he’s not playable against Marlon and Archie, while I needed the status more for more line-ups against Lana and Nessa. The buffed Johto Master Passive really helps sustaining the team and compensating the loss in damage.
4:20 – NC Serena / May / SS Blue Vs Marlon +550 Strength
Honestly nothing much to say there, NC Serena is just too good for this event… May is basically there for Rain while SS Blue gapfill the buffs and provides durability to the team. Couldn’t land a confusion for some extra points (lazy to build a specific Serena grid, and SS Blue just didn’t land it) but the run was fine as it was. Initially had a Pre-Sync clear for this but eating the Sync was ironically a bit safer as tossing a lot of resources on mid made it so the sides took some time to clear, leaving the team at the mercy of AoE and potential flinches.
7:40 – Archie / Lodge Rosa / Elio Vs Lana +330 Strength
This one was a bit tricky and I couldn’t really aim for higher points, because Archie dies to their Sync even without too much Strength as Elio don’t provides physical defenses to compensate his Trainer Move drop and low bulk. So I basically had to go for a Pre-Sync while getting a good “stage script” so that the Sleep denial allow Lodge Rosa to Sync Nuke before the mid uses X Defense All. I also had to skip the EX Support Sync in favor of Archie’s Sync to keep Rain up until Rosa’s Sync. Honestly I don’t want to reset more for this one lol but invested Lodge Rosa was relatively impressive.
10:40 – SS Lysandre / Egg Tech Blastoise / Lodge Adaman Vs Nessa +400 Strength
Honestly just SS Lysandre killing the stage lol. The burn combined with durability from Lodge Adaman helps survive the Sync and grab a bit more points (note that I time Rain to end before their Sync so they don’t get the benefit from it). It could go higher with an invested SS Lysandre but 2/5 is statisfying enough.
14:00 – Kris / Dojo Gloria / Hilbert Vs Archie +450 Strength
Kris was pretty impressive for this stage! Since my Dojo is not invested the raw power is a bit low so I used some sort of Hybrid build on Kris so that she can Waterfall-flinch some turns and gain some momentum. Dojo Gloria damage isn’t too impressive at 1/5 but she was pretty useful to debuff the opponent defense and combine her Sync acceleration with the flinch for some turn-skips.

Congratulations, always a treat to see such precise play. It's good that players who like the CSMM format also have a leaderboard now to measure their skills just like with LG.
I don't have Eusine or Lysandre and my SS Blue is at 1/5 but it's really the execution and team building, I've been zug-zuging CSMM so much that facing such chonky targets is so rough haha. Managed 274k thanks to a 70k Marlon but with Lana tanking instead, which was 260 when you replied earlier today but is 500 atm. Repping the OG Lisia as well ❤
Managed to get to 238,851 just using the pairs I already had without SS Lysandre or Dojo Gloria and not maxing out my the rosters I've used. Comfortably in Master rank currently and hoping I'll stay within it to complete the mission.
Hope Grass type master comes out next because I will take that far too seriously, love my Grass types!

Congrats man, the last 2 matches was very creative use of your new units :)) I like this event too, it is very refreshing and fun. Though I do hope that DENA consider allowing 2 types instead of 1, or some other means to widen the roster a bit when we get to other types, since I don't know if I can reach 180k when we get to rock or fairy
As a person who used Marlon in one of their clears, Im very surprised Ive gotten 247,788 points. I can definitely improve my Misty clear as i used a lvl 1 support goldeen eggmon for sp.def buffs for smart cookie on Misty (had to do a mirror match lol). Marlon and Archie were RNG-filled since I had to use some questionable pairs, but I managed.
Wow! So glad you've finally got both Dojo Gloria and SS Lysandre. Hoping to see Volcanion again some next time so I can finally recruit him.
